All Dolls Are Art 2012: World of Make Believe
July 26-29, 2012 - Wyndham Garden Hotel - Austin, TX
Madame Zola Fortune Teller 3-day Class with Arley Berryhill
Skill Level: All Levels
Class maximum - 18 students
Make “Madame Zola”, a simple 13 in. stump doll, and build a foam-core booth (17”) for her to sit in. Because of the simplicity of her body, we will be able to focus on some basic (and advance) doll-making techniques for face painting and hand construction. And for fun, we get to embellish her costume with lots of jewelry, trims, and beads.
Then, take a break from doll making and have fun painting, papering, embellishing, and assembling the booth.
Pre-work includes making torso body at home. We will sew and stuff head and arms in class.
Kit fee: $30.00 payable in class
Kit includes: lambs wool hair, cut foam core pieces for booth, “crystal” ball and stand, and graphics and handout with complete instructions and patterns for doll.
