July 25-28, 2013 - Wyndham Garden Hotel, Austin, TX
Bella Donna 2-day class with Joyce Cloutman
Skill Level: All Levels, Media: Mixed
Class Minimum: 12, Class Maximum: 18, Wait-Listed
Kit Fee: $25.00 payable in class
Bella Dona is a dreamy mixed media doll constructed on a recycled bottle! The figure is made from a mixture of clays and plaster cloth and is decorated with items of significance to you.
In this 2-day class, you will cover a bottle, mold the doll's face and make all of the decorative touches from clay. On day 1, you will cover the bottle, make all of the clay pieces and bake them. On day 2, Bella Dona comes alive! You will apply color to the figure and antique it. Bella Dona's head is made from a mold, but you will learn how to tweak it to make the face your own creation. You will learn to make the armature for the arms and to make simple hands to cradle a small treasure.
If you have a clay oven and are able to bring it, please let ADAA know.
Kit contains: Polymer clay, paper clay, plaster cloth, foil, wire, glass bottle (you may bring your own if desired), simple sculpting tool kit, stamped tissue paper, 2 part putty and gloves. Joyce will provide a selection of small sculpted objects for you to chose from if you do not want to bring your own.
