Reluctance is a paper clay doll built over a wire armature. Her body is cloth, built over the armature. She is a seated doll that is approximately 46 cm. tall. We will build her using a proportion system that you can later adapt to make any sized doll. Her clothing is very simple, but elegant.
We will focus on sculpting in paper clay and then covering the clay with cloth. The techniques learned during class are: sculpting with paper clay, learning a simple proportion system, that will allow user to create any sized doll, that will be proportioned correctly, simple dying of fabrics, bead embellishment, color theory, wing-making and face painting.
Some pre-class work is required.
