Madame Mori 2-day class with Angela Jarecki

If you happen upon a forest, at just the right time of day, at just the right place, and are ever so quiet, you may see Madame mori, the forest mage. She quietly travels the maze of the forest, leaving a trail of peace in her wake. She sings with the wind, encourages the sunlight to dance with all its might among the leaves, and listens to the old, old stories of the trees.
Madame Mori is a cloth puppet/doll. Her torso is supported on a main rod and her arms may be moved and posed by rods that attach/detach from her wrists.
Madame Mori will also be able to hang from the wall, when she is not being used as a puppet!
In class, you will focus primarily on learning how to create a doll with Asian features. You will learn how to "skin" the face and hands. You will also work extensively on fun ways to make costumes look more complicated than they actually are! And of course, Madame Mori's costume and hat require lots of embellishment.
For pre-class work you will sew the main parts of her kimono. Angela will provide a pre-made head, torso, hands, and rods for the doll.
Kit Fee: $30.00 payable in class.
The kit includes torso attached to the painted rod and ball, head for doll, plus enough fabric to "skin" the head, fabric for hands, ribbons, beads and wires for hands.
Pod Baby 1-day class with Angela Jarecki
Skill Level: All Levels, Media: Cloth and Clay
Class Minimum: 7, Class Maximum: 12, Wait-Listed!
This little one is made from polymer clay. In class, you will sculpt the face and hands, or you may purchase a pre-made baby. Then you will make her little "pod" and decorate it with beads. The little pod baby is only about 6" from the top of her hat to the bottom of the pod.
For pre-class work you will sew the leaves and the "wrap" for the baby.
